On ne peut pas activer de capacités donc Top est useless contre Extirpate.
Par contre Counterbalance contrera l'extirpate si on a (par chance ou parce qu'on a lu le jeu de l'adversaire) un sort à 1CMC sur le dessus.

Il joue un UW controle ac grand arbitre machin truc, on est à la 1 et il a theatre en cercle qui m'empale totalement, je run countergoyf.
Il a 6 lands sur table + X enchant globaux + grand arbitre, j'ai une waste, il tente opalescence que j'empale via force of will, il cherche une solution via toupie, n'en trouve pas, il a donc un land untap et là il me sort :
